Mimi Mattis has more than 20 years of broadly diversified experience in providing mental health services. She works with adults, adolescents, and children, providing individual, group, and family therapy services.
Ms. Mattis has provided direct clinical care to clients with a wide variety of treatment needs; in addition to private practice, she has worked in both public and private mental health organizations. She has also directed numerous supportive service programs, and has ten years experience presenting workshops and classes on parenting, communication skills, child development, discipline and related issues.
Ms. Mattis believes that successful therapy is a very personal joint venture of client and therapist; it assumes and requires the active engagement of both. This collaboration can take many forms: the therapeutic work could be brief and solution-focused, or it could be a longer-term and focused on safe exploration and resolution of core problems. She brings her interest in relational therapy and self-psychology to the therapeutic work.
