Experience:
Prior to opening a private practice in the Stone House, Marie Lutsch was Co-Director at the Women’s Home, a long-term treatment program for chemically dependent women. Her experience at the Women’s Home reinforced her belief that recovery from an addiction of any sort requires a holistic approach to recovery and then to life. She has carried this perspective into a more expansive practice at the Stone House.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy forms the core of Marie’s therapy approach. Using this, the effect of thoughts on feelings and behavior is carefully examined. Marie specializes in helping adults identify their strengths and weaknesses. This self-knowledge provides the over-arching framework for the therapy. Therapy, in turn, can employ several different approaches depending on the issues being addressed. Regardless of the issue, Marie’s therapy entails a strong, collaborative effort between client and therapist.
